If you have a DMACC issued laptop and you'd like to have access to Banner and network drives from home through the VPN, please follow the instructions below.

1. Email techsupport@dmacc.edu for permissions to access the VPN. If we have linked this article to you, we have most likely already done this for you.

2.  From a DMACC Facility or Campus, connect the laptop to DMACC Private wireless and log in.

3.  Install the VPN. See below for more details.

On your DMACC laptop, search for, and open the Software Center application.
In Software Center, under the Applications tab choose and install the Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility app.

Once the installation finishes, you can find the program in the Windows Start menu, under "Cisco" > "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client"
You can also just use the Windows search bar and search Cisco.
Once you see the program, launch it.

On the bottom-right of your screen, this box should appear. In the blank box, type vpn.dmacc.edu
You should only have to do this once. When you open the VPN software in the future, vpn.dmacc.edu will be auto-filled into that box. When you're ready, click Connect.

After you click Connect, you'll see another login prompt. Use your normal DMACC username and password, like you would use for myDMACC or a campus computer.

You should get a pop-up stating you are now connected and at the bottom it should say Welcome to the DMACC VPN. Click OK to close this message.

You are now connected. If you need to disconnect from the VPN choose the icon in the system tray at the bottom-right that looks like a globe with a lock on it.

It will open the VPN window and then you can click Disconnect.

After connecting to the VPN, your P: drive and the remaining network drives should auto-map within a minute.

Once you have installed the VPN it can be connected to before logging in to Windows(Windows 10 only).

Select the icon below to start the process. After that proceed to the next step.

Once the icon is clicked you will see the following:

Wait a few moments and you will then see the VPN screen.
If the box to the left of "connect" is blank, enter vpn.dmacc.edu

Select connect, enter your username, and password, then select OK.

If your connection was successful, then you will be taken back to the login screen.
You can verify your connection by hovering over the following icon. If it says “disconnect” then you are connected.

Now you can login to the device with your username and password as if you are on a DMACC campus. This will help to ensure your drives and account are in sync with the DMACC System.

4. (Optional) - Install Banner if you need to use it. The installation is also located in Software Center.

Otherwise, you can skip this installation by simply choosing to enter https://banner9.dmacc.edu in your web browser, which will also take you to Banner without any special setup required.

If you need further assistance in adding the VPN program, please email techsupport@dmacc.edu
If you would like to stop by the Tech Support office in Building 6, Room 17, we can assist you with the installation as well.
